Unknown dark room. Central dream character asleep in bed, lying on stomach under sheet cover. Asleep in the chair at the computer.
COMMENTS
No earplugs; headphones on but no sound (cooking show paused). OBSERVING AND/OR PARTICIPATING. Confusing dream action.

ACCOUNT
SEGMENT 1
PARTICIPATING. I'm sitting at a long table in a well lit cafeteria[1], and across from me are two female friends. We have a long conversation (forgotten) where a decision is made.
SEGMENT 2
OBSERVING. I'm watching someone quietly asleep in bed[2} under a top sheet or quilt[3]. I am aware of a presence--a spirit--but I don't see it, yet know it is standing? at the wall right where I am.
NOTE: Because of the confusing nature of the dream, Segment 2 is broken down into current viewpoints which changed and merged a few times. Three things are possibly going on in this segment:
[1] Either I'm the person in the bed AND in my astral body (hovering over the bed or standing between/in wall and bed). OR
[2] The person in bed is unknown, AND I'm in my astral body while hovering or standing near the bed. OR
[3] I'm the person in the bed, AND I'm in the astral body, AND I'm also the presence—a spirit.
PARTICIPATING (AS SPIRIT?). The person is in the center of the bed and seems to have no awareness of the spirit even as it sits at the foot of the bed (on left) and lies on the left edge of the bed, its back to the wall[4]. I feel its "body" movements as if I AM the spirit, and sense it is stocky and about 5' to 5' 5" tall, but I cannot determine a sex. I feel it raising its right leg, and I see a wall of softly glowing bright red light under the leg of the spirit. I feel it straddle the person's left leg. I vaguely sense the spirit's intention which is not to molest but to merely lie on the person's back, to gain some form of closeness with the sleeping person. I don't know why it wants to do that, but it is in an upright straddle position and leans forward, making a sound (forgotten).
PARTICIPATING (AS ME). There is an imperceptible change of viewpoint. One moment I sense the spirit leaning forward and the next I seem to be in the familiar in-between (astral?) state. At some point I briefly see a soft lavender pink light amid darkness THEN I feel a medium heavy pressure on my back as if something is lying on it—more than that it is a sort of tight embrace or clutch. It is NOT pinning me down—it's literally clinging to my back, and I am certain of that as I shrug my back side to side to dislodge the presence, managing to sit up in the process.
PARTICIPATING and OBSERVING. As I sit up and the spirit is no longer on me—it is now clear that I AM the person in the bed. I can feel and see[5] myself scrambling to the edge of the bed[6]. The room is dark but as always there is that mysterious light where I can see close around me (the aura, perhaps?). I turn slightly leftward and shout in frustration into the dark, "I call on the Forces of Good, my Angels, and the Archangels. I ask that all (negative?) presences be removed from my apartment...permanently." (parts may be forgotten at this point)
I awake at 8:36 PM then close my eyes briefly and see a display of rich purple against darkness.
NOTES
[1] My back is to the dream screen
[2] the dream room was not in my waking life apartment—I don't even have a bed...I sleep on the couch in an upright position.
[3] sleeping in a queen or king-sized bed to the far left of a large, darkened room. The left side of the bed is against the wall, the head of the bed Northward, the foot of the bed closest to dream screen.
[4] the spirit lies on its left side, back facing the wall
[5] I am simultaneously participating and observing as if standing or hovering from the wall area behind me. So whatever I do, I also see it happening.
[6] center right with wall behind me. . . I'm wearing white or light color clothing (PJs?).
FINAL COMMENTS
It was very difficult to describe this dream because I seemed to be myself in the physical and the astral but also be the spirit as well. A very odd and rare dream.
INTERPRETATION
THE SPIRIT = self. Possibly the dark side of self trying to unite with the main self. OR could be an actual spirit that I (while in my astral body) whose activities were viewed by my astral self.
RED LIGHT = may be energy of some kind.
RIGHT LEG = the future.
STRADDLING = indecision.
LAYING ON MY BACK = pressures of life; burden--what is carried around. Could be an actual spirit visit.
What I think was happening is that I astral projected and stood or hovered nearby, either watching a spirit and entering its body OR I was the spirit and lay upon my physical body. The spirit could be my dark side trying to merge with me or gain some attention.
